Electoral Literacy Club Programme
Under SVEEP, the Electoral Literacy Club of SCB Degree College in collaboration with the Sub Collector Office Baripada today organised an awareness program in the college.
The program started with the introductory remarks by Smt Sarita Prusti, Faculty Department of Economics of the College.
Esteemed Assistant Collector Sir Mr Nihar Ranjan Das delivered the lecture on the importance of democracy constitutional responsibility and the importance of voting and the process of registering names in the voter list.
In the resourceful PPT presentation, Mr Chinmay Bhadra, Technical Assistant of the Sub Collector Office, discussed threadbare the procedure to register as a voter. He further emphasized the importance of the electoral participation of youth for the successful consolidation of Indian democracy.
The students raised pertinent queries with regard to their electoral participation which were addressed to their better satisfaction.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Aseema Sahu, enjoined the students to come forward and exercise their democratic rights for personal development and the development of society at large.
All the winners of the Awareness Competitions, viz. Debate and Essay Writing, Drawing and Rangoli Competition were felicitated by the Sub Collector Office, Baripada, Mayurbhanj. Mr Susanta Kumar Mohanta, HOD Physics announced the results.
